Over here!

My form is here (I'll also post it here under a cut for the link-phobic!). I may also post to [community profile] addme soon, but I'm going to wait and see if I get any bites on this thread first...

General
Name/Nickname: Betsy
Age or Age Group: Pushing 40
Country: USA
Pronouns: You know, the female ones.

You
Do you have any hobbies?: I like arts & crafts, but I'm not often working on anything (untreated ADHD is making life difficult currently). I'm planning on getting back into playing guitar (waiting on some new strings to come in the mail), and I'm actually really excited about it! I'm sure my feelings will change when I pick it up and start playing (I'll be super-duper rusty and it could be discouraging)!
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: Plenty! Check out my profile.
Any dislikes?: Pepperoni.
Are you into fandom?: Not really. The closest I get to fandom is following tons of Sailor Moon fan accounts on Twitter!
What does your day to day look like?: You'll just have to read my journal to find out, now won't you? ;o)

Entertainment
What do you like to watch?: Mostly comedies. I like to laugh! I don't watch many current TV shows aside from Family Guy, LOL! And a few reality shows I watch with my mom (90 Day Fiance and stuff).
What movies do you enjoy?: My favorite movie is: a tie between This is Spinal Tap and Pulp Fiction! Two very different movies, but I love them both a lot!
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: Animal Crossing. I like Stardew Valley too but haven't played in a while. I want to get back into playing old stuff too, like on NES, SNES, and even Wii!
If you like to read, what do you read?: I have a hard time with reading (again, untreated ADHD), but I like biographies, books about tarot, and other non-fiction books. I'd love to get back into reading and maybe try some fantasy like the Harry Potty series or LOTR because I've never really read anything like that before.
What kind of music do you listen to?: Rock is my first love, so I listen to a lot of it! Mostly old favorites but the occasional new stuff too. Classic rock, glam rock, art rock, etc. My favorite band is Pulp.

Journal & Friending
What do you post about?: My life! Family, music, health, my ~issues~ which I won't get into here, but uh, I've got 'em... I post a lot about food and weed too, which is fitting.
How often do you update?: Usually at least once or twice a week!
What do you look for in a DW friend?: A kind heart, an open mind. I have Opinions that maybe not everyone would agree with. Nothing that provocative (really!), but some people are childish about stuff and don't understand how to agree to disagree! So yeah, just like... Be ok with having a friend who's not super-duper liberal but not conservative really either, I guess? Sadly, I feel like people aren't very tolerant of differing views here on DW.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: Life stuff? Just not fanfiction because that's never interested me, no offense.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: Leave a comment on my sticky post if you friend me, so I know you're cool. B-)
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Not that I can think of!
Is there anything others should know before friending?: What's written in my journal stays in my journal.

Anything else? If you know me IRL, please... just... LOOK AWAY!! LOL

My guitar stuff gets here tomorrow! The first task will be putting on the new strings. I've already taken off the old ones and used a polishing cloth on the fretboard! I'm super excited, but we'll see how long that lasts after I start actually playing/practicing! I know I'm going to be super rusty! After all, it's been many years since I last played guitar! I played ukelele a few months ago, but that's sort of its own thing.

If any of my musician friends have any tips for a perpetual beginner guitarist, feel free to share!

What kind of guitar stuff are you getting? I want to buy new stuff, but I keep telling myself I really don't need anything.

I don't know if I have any tips. When I learned, my teacher had me to a lot of one note at a time songs that helped me with finger dexterity, and I feel like that ended up helping a lot with chording. This is the one I remember the most: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/johnny-cash/ghost-riders-in-the-sky-tabs-280218
